Herb 

Herbert Hereford Smith III, 72 of Plano, TX passed away Friday, January 1st, 2016. 

 

Herb was born August 31, 1943 in Madison, WI. Eldest son of the late Herbert H. Jr and Ruth Grass Smith of Milton, WV. He is survived by daughter, Marisa Smith of Austin, TX, son, Barrett Hale of Oak Cliff, brother, Bern Smith of Grove City, OH, along with many loyal friends. 

 

He is preceded in death by one brother, Roger Smith.

 

Herb graduated from Marshall University and received a Master’s Degree from the University of Arkansas and was an officer in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War.

 

He excelled at working with computers and enjoyed a long career as programmer and private consultant. He enjoyed live music, the arts and writing. He is remembered for his insightful wit and supportive character, and will always be missed as an irreplaceable friend and a devoted father.

 

A memorial service will be held in Plano, TX at a date to be determined.
